Father Edward is now in Jordon attending the Anglican Oriental Orthodox International Dialogue meetings. Despite the tensions going on in the entire geographical area, it was felt that this important meeting continue as planned. It illustrates the need for standing in solidarity with those Christians who live their whole lives under constant threat.
Father Edward will be staying on the Dead Sea which is only 45 miles from Jerusalem.
Your prayers for safety and protection would be appreciated. If you don’t know what to pray you can pray these words adapted from the Book of Common Prayer:
O God our heavenly Father, who art present in they power in every place; Preserve we beseech thee, Father Edward as he attends meetings in Jordon. Surround him with thy loving care; protect him from every danger; and bring him in safety to his journey’s end; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
