July 20-24, 2009
Quebec Lodge announces week-long ‘Day Camp’ for children from 4 to 14 from July 20-24, 2009. It will run from 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The theme will be Holidaze! Each day will highlight a different holiday of the year. There will be a Christmas cookie-baking day and an Easter egg hunt, St. Valentine’s Day chocolate hearts as well as regular camp activities like games, parties, swimming, canoeing, chapel, songs and crafts.
The cost will be $75 per child for the week including lunches and snacks. The leaders are Brian and Heather Wharry with staff from the Brookside Outdoor Center . For more information, please call 819-842-2286
Dear Friends of Quebec Lodge, Even though the operations of Quebec Lodge were suspended three years ago, the Quebec Lodge Foundation, composed of a dedicated group of local supporters, has been working hard to continue the mission and ministry of the camp and to preserve the beautiful tranquil setting that has been home to Quebec Lodge for over sixty years. We have an agreement with the Anglican Diocese of Quebec that the Foundation will purchase a portion of the property – enough to provide a suitable space to operate the camp. As part of the re-launch, we are sponsoring a day camp on the property in July. Brian Wharry, a long-time employee of Quebec Lodge and a member of the Foundation, has agreed to manage this project. Brian and his wife, Heather, are the owners and operators of Brookside Outdoor Center and have many years of camping experience. We have a modest budget but find that we do need some assistance with the funding. Since a significant number of the children who will attend our camp require financial assistance, we are asking for donations. We want to provide the camping experience to any child who wishes to attend and believe that financial difficulties should not prevent participation. Our goal for this project is $7,000. Keeping the spirit and mission of the Quebec Lodge Camp alive is important, and your gift towards this project will contribute to the success of our mission. The Quebec Lodge Foundation is a registered charitable institution and will provide tax receipts for donations. May we extend our sincere thanks for your support of our project.
