The Blessing of Pets, in the tradition of St. Francis, could not have happened on a finer day. Saturday morning was greeted with sunshine and warm temperatures and the North Hatley market place saw a large number of people and pets. Fr Edward and Fr Giuseppe were on hand to bless pets, mostly dogs and possibly a pot-bellied pig, with a prayer and holy water and then families enjoyed the animals at the petting zoo provided by Ferme Cedar Brook from Lac Brome. As we approach Thanksgiving, we can pause and give thanks for ALL God’s creatures, great and small.
